چکیده
We study sample approximations of chance constrained problems. In particular, we consider the sample average approximation (SAA) approach and discuss the convergence properties of the resulting problem. We discuss how one can use the SAA method to obtain good candidate solutions for chance constrained ( )Departamento de Matemática, Pontif́ıcia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, RJ Brazil 22453-900, e-mail: [email protected], research supported by CAPES and FUNENSEG. Numerical experiments are performed to correctly tune the parameters involved in the SAA. In addition, we present a method for constructing statistical lower bounds for the optimal value of the considered problem and discuss how one should tune the underlying parameters. We apply the SAA to two chance constrained problems. The first is a linear portfolio selection problem with returns following a multivariate lognormal distribution. The second is a joint chance constrained version of a simple blending problem.

Fractional CCP: A Fuzzy Goal Programming Approach
Abstract It is the purpose of this article to introduce a linear approximation technique for solving a fractional chance constrained programming (CC) problem. For this purpose, a fuzzy goal programming model of the equivalent deterministic form of the fractional chance constrained programming is provided and then the process of defuzzification and linearization of the problem is started. A sam...
متن کاملSOME PROPERTIES FOR FUZZY CHANCE CONSTRAINED PROGRAMMING
Convexity theory and duality theory are important issues in math- ematical programming. Within the framework of credibility theory, this paper rst introduces the concept of convex fuzzy variables and some basic criteria. Furthermore, a convexity theorem for fuzzy chance constrained programming is proved by adding some convexity conditions on the objective and constraint functions. Finally,...
متن کاملUncertainty in linear fractional transportation problem
In this paper, we study the linear fractional transportation problem with uncertain arameters. After recalling some definitions, concepts and theorems in uncertainty theory we present three approaches for solving this problem. First we consider the expected value of the objective function together with the expectation of satisfying constraints. Optimizing the expected value of the objective fun...

HLP (hub location problem) tries to find locations of hub facilities and assignment of nodes to extended facilities. Hubs are facilities to collect, arrange, and distribute commodities in telecommunication networks, cargo delivery systems, etc. Hubs are very crucial and their inaccessibility impresses on network whole levels. In this paper, first, total reliability of the network is defined bas...
متن کاملA Chance Constrained Multiple Objective Goal Programming Model of Fuzzy QFD and FMEA: Model Development
There are varieties of QFD combination forms available that can help management to choose the right model for his/her types of problem. The proposed MOCC-QFD-FMEA model is a right model to include variety of objectives as well as the risk factors into the model of the problem. Due to the fact that the model also takes into consideration the concept of Fuzzy set, it further allows management...
